How to Apply

  • Services are available by appointment only. Phone or in-person appointments are available depending on the type of assistance you need.
  • Begin our intake process by calling us. You will be prompted to leave a message. Be sure to include your name, contact information, and the type of assistance you need. A case manager will return your call as soon as possible.
  • Have the required documentation ready for your callback or scheduled appointment time.

Call your local Catholic Charities of Central Texas office to request utility assistance. If calling outside our regular business hours, please leave a voicemail with your name and contact information. We will return your call as soon as possible.

Required Documentation

  • Last 30 days of gross income for all adult household members (check stubs, Social Security award letter for current year, unemployment, workers compensation)
  • Proof of child support payments, if applicable
  • At least one government-issued ID for all adult household members (driver’s license, military ID, State ID, passport)
  • Proof of residency
  • Proof of qualifying financial hardship

Brazos Valley Rent and Utility Assistance

ELIGIBILITY: You can fill out our Brazos Valley rent and utility assistance online form if you are a resident in one of the following counties: Burleson, Robertson, Brazos, or Washington County.

Texas Gas Service Utility Assistance

Catholic Charities has partnered with Texas Gas Service to provide utility bill assistance to Texans in need.

ELIGIBILITY: You are eligible for help with your Texas Gas Service bill if you are a resident in one of the following areas:

  • Galveston: Galveston, Jamaica Beach, Bayou Vista
  • Port Arthur: Port Arthur, Nederland, Port Neches, Groves.

Georgetown Rent or Mortgage Assistance

Due to high demand, our Georgetown-area rent and mortgage funding has been exhausted. Please contact us for other assistance on this page for which you are eligible, or click here to view our community resource lists for help from our local partners.

Thanks to a grant from Georgetown Health Foundation, Catholic Charities has special funding available for Georgetown-area residents who did not receive stimulus checks under the CARES Act.

ELIGIBILITY: Must be a Georgetown or Georgetown ETJ resident living within eligible zip codes: 78626, 78628, 78633, 78673, 78674, and 78634.

Hays County Housing or Utility Assistance

Through funds made available by the Burdine Johnson Foundation, Catholic Charities of Central Texas can provide housing or utility assistance to Hays County households. You will be contacted within 2 to 3 business days.

ELIGIBILITY: This funding is available for residents of the following zip codes: 78666, 78640, 78610, 78737, 78620, 78676, 78652, 78619, 78667

Finances can be stressful. But if you have the right tools, they don’t have to be! Catholic Charities has partnered with Frost Bank to offer FREE Money Smart Management Trainings. In these classes, you will learn how to build a better financial future from industry experts at Frost Bank.
