VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Catholic Charities of Central Texas offers many opportunities for volunteerism and service. Examples of our volunteer opportunities are listed below. To sign up or to get help choosing the right opportunity for you, contact our volunteer team.

Volunteer with Counseling Services

Choose one or more of the below volunteer opportunities to support our Counseling Services program.

 

Administrative Assistance: This role includes greeting clients, answering/routing phone calls, communicating with staff through teams when clients are here for appointments, and directing people to online resources. Minimum time commitment for this role is 5 hours per week.

 

Community Outreach: This role includes attending different events with the counseling program around the community.

Volunteer with Disaster Response

Choose one or more of the below volunteer opportunities to support our Disaster Response program.

 

MARC Volunteer: This role includes hauling items to set Multi-Agency Resource Center (MARC) locations, screening/intakes with individuals and families, giving out gift cards/items. Car space to haul items will be much appreciated, if possible. Commitment: One-time events – as needed during times of disaster. Locations: Austin/Travis County, Brazos Valley, Waco, Killeen, Bastrop, Hays, (Diocese of Austin 25 county region).

 

Long term recovery assistance volunteer: This role includes disbursing client assistance, call backs, creating spreadsheets. Commitment: 4-16 hours per week.

Volunteer with Financial Stability

Choose one or more of the below volunteer opportunities to support our Financial Stability program.

 

Bilingual volunteers preferred for these roles. Minimum time commitment for all of the following roles is 2-8 hours per week.

 

Intake Assistance: This role includes greeting clients, answering/routing phone calls, communicating with staff through teams when clients are here for appointments, directing people to online resources, and provide screening and intakes for Financial Stability.

Volunteer with Immigration Legal Services

Choose one or more of the below volunteer opportunities to support our Immigration Legal Services program.

 

Bilingual volunteers preferred for these roles. Minimum time commitment for all of the following roles is 5 hours per week.

 

Document Translators: This role includes translating documents from English into different languages.

 

Call Backs: This role includes making call back from our ILS voicemail line.

 

Administration Assistance: This role includes greeting clients, answering/routing phone calls, communicating with staff through teams when clients are here for appointments, and directing people to online resources.

Volunteer with St. Gabriel's Pregnancy and Parenting Program

Choose one or more of the below volunteer opportunities to support our St. Gabriel's Pregnancy and Parenting Program.

 

Donation Center Volunteer: Restock and organize donation room. Prepare packages for material distribution. Ability to lift 25 pounds is needed for this role.

 

Intake Volunteer: Retrieve voice mail and enroll new clients into the program. Training phase and background check required. This role requires a time commitment of 4-8 hours per week. Bilingual volunteers are preferred for this role.

 

Gabriel Angel: Gabriel Angels are volunteers within the parish. They offer hope and support to mothers and fathers during and after pregnancy – regardless of the circumstances surrounding the pregnancy. Serves as a mentor, provide emotional and spiritual care in a confidential and non-judgmental manner. This volunteer will be assigned to a family and checks in with them once a week, visits with them once a month.

Volunteer with St. Michael's Veteran Services

Choose one or more of the below volunteer opportunities to support our St. Michael's Veteran Services program.

 

Phone Intake: This role includes making call backs, screening individual for eligibility, completing intake form over the phone with individual.

 

Data Entry: Inputting data into data systems used by program. Can be remote – training will be in person.

 

Landlord Outreach: This role includes contacting landlords to find where there are open apartments for clients.

The first step to volunteering with CCCTX is attending a volunteer orientation! Sign up for an upcoming volunteer orientation to learn more about our mission and how you can get involved. This comprehensive training will teach you everything you need to know before volunteering with CCCTX. We will cover all of our programs, requirements like EIM certification, and any other logistics.
