From Overwhelmed to Empowered: Supporting New Parents in Their First Steps
This year, Catholic Charities was honored to walk alongside hundreds of families through our St. Gabriel’s Pregnancy and Parenting Program. Among them was a young couple who recently became first-time parents while pursuing their PhDs at Texas A&M University. Their journey shows just how deeply these services touch lives and why they are so important.

Refugee Resettlement Services: Compassion in the Face of Challenge
This year, CCCTX, like many nonprofits, felt the impact of federal funding uncertainty. Even after announcements that the funding freeze would be lifted, delays in receiving critical funds for our refugee program forced us to make difficult operational adjustments. To protect the financial health of our organization, in February 2025 we made the difficult decision to suspend the majority of our refugee services.

Keeping a Family Together: Joyce’s Financial Stability Story
Eight years ago, Joyce’s life changed overnight. When Child Protective Services moved to place her five grandchildren in separate homes, Joyce stepped up to take custody so the children could stay together. The youngest was just 5½ months old, the oldest 8 years.
